Slaughtering a sacrifice at the end of a woman's `Iddah

346

A: The act of slaughtering an animal after a woman's `Iddah expires and the belief that it is legally accepted have no origin in the Shari`ah and is impermissible according to the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him), Anyone who introduces anything into this matter of ours (Islam) that is not part of it will have it rejected. Allah (Glorified be He) states in the Glorious Qur'an that `Iddah is obligatory and does not mention that a sacrifice has to be offered upon the end of `Iddah. Indeed, it is an invented practice that Allah and His Messenger did not enjoin. Thus, it has to be discarded and disapproved of. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
